Greiner Middle School, a Dallas Independent School District magnet school for music, was selected as the target school for the awards.

An inner-city school, Greiner is located in the heart of Oak Cliff, where Stevie spent his childhood. Students are awarded the scholarships at the end of their 8th grade year, and upon graduating from High School students may use the scholarships to attend the college or university of their choice. The teachers recommend candidates for the scholarship, and each candidate must have a good attendance record and good grades.

Presented by  LoneStar 92.5 and Hooters. S.R.V. Remembrance Ride, Inc. is 501(c)3 Non-profit. 100% of all proceeds benefit the SRV Memorial Scholarship Fund. All event organizers and staff are volunteers.
