Southeast Harmonica Championship(TALLAHASSEE, FL) – The 4th Southeast Harmonica Championship and Fund Raiser for the Big Bend Blues Society will be held Saturday, August 25 from 3pm-8pm at Bradfordville Blues (7152 Moses Ln, Tallahassee, Florida). Doors open at 2pm. It’s another blues harmonica blowout with harmonica players from the tri-state area blowing up a storm!

This event was created/hosted by Mike “Salty” Lanigan and the Big Bend Blues Society four years ago and has sold out each time. Ain’t nothin’ like a “Mississippi sax” party! All ticket proceeds will pay for costs of the championship and to benefit the Big Bend Blues Society which raised over $29,000 for the BBC’s GoFundMe Campaign!

There are four categories featured: Open; Female, Future Blower (Under 16); and Amateur, with Best Overall. It is open to all harp players–novice, seasoned, pro and everything in between. Winners will compete for a $500 cash award for Best Overall, $25 for the winner in each category, trophies and will qualify for the Florida Harmonica Championships. Each contestant will also receive a t-shirt. All harmonica players and lovers invited to participate or attend.

Play acoustically, through a PA system, with your own amp, a provided rhythm section, your own accompaniment or recorded soundtrack. There is a $20 fee for contestants to enter the competition.
