CLARKSDALE, MS – It’s Christmas: Time for Gifts and Giving. Another year is coming to a close, a time to celebrate the holidays with family and friends, and to give thanks. On behalf of all of us at the Delta Blues Museum, thanks to our visitors and the blues fans who support our work. And what better way to give more thanks than with a gift to, or a gift from, the Museum? Help us preserve and present the legacy of the Delta Blues: the music, the artists, and the culture that continues today at the Crossroads in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
There are several ways you can show your support:
Donate to our Deeper Roots campaign, which raises funds to build new exhibits and expand current ones for our new Muddy Waters Addition. We have received a grant of $100,000 to complete the final design of the new permanent exhibits. It’s a matching grant, meaning we must raise $100,000 to fulfill it. Donate to the Deeper Roots campaign to help us reach that goal. And thanks to the Museums for America award from the Institute for Museums and Library Services for the award.
Buy a DBM blues brick. For $75, a custom engraved brick makes you, your business, or that special someone a permanent part of the Delta Blues Museum. Bricks are placed in the walkway in front of the Museum’s home in the historic Illinois Central railroad depot. Give a brick for the holidays, and get one for yourself while you’re at it.
