Daniel Eriksen“Fucking Amazing!” – Steven Van Zandt (guitarist, actor, producer)

“He’s got his own style! If he’s copying anyone, I haven’t heard them” – Eden Brent (artist)

“He shouts, stomps and screams his way through this set of Delta blues and dark gospel with plenty of feeling. So much, in fact, that you sometimes forget this is a new record from a modern day, Scandinavian blues man”- Blues Matters (UK Blues Magazine)

Award winning blues artist and slide guitarist, Daniel Eriksen, has performed his unique delta style blues, infused with New Orleans rhythms, gospel and boogie “everywhere” – from Moscow, Russia to Clarksdale, Mississippi via the deep forests of Finland, the countryside of France and groovy New Orleans and everywhere in between- for over 20 years.

Through dedication, and years of relentless touring all over the world, he has built a reputation as a great slide guitarist.

In addition to having studied the old masters of slide, like Blind Willie Johnson and Mississippi Fred McDowell, Eriksen has learned firsthand from modern masters such as Roy Rogers, Bob Brozman and John Mooney.

Eriksen has shared the stage with fine blues artists such as Lazy Lester, John Mooney, James Harman, Rick Danko, Eden Brent, Grayson Capps, Lightnin’ Malcolm, Fiona Boyes, Bill Abel, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, and opened shows for B.B. King, John Mayall, The Yardbirds and Roy Rogers.

He won Blues Album of The Year Spellemann Award (Norwegian Grammy) for his dark gospel blues album Moonshine Hymns in 2015, and also received the prestigeous NBF Blues Artist Of The Year the same year. The award was given to Eriksen by Steven Van Zandt who said “You deserve to be big, please come to America – often!,” and later tweeted “Fucking amazing” after seeing Daniel’s concert.

This year, Daniel Eriksen and his drummer Stig Sjøstrøm, won 2nd place in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee – a “World Championship” in blues, with over 250 bands and artists from all around the world competing. Only beaten by the soulful Kevin “B.F.” Burt from Iowa, Eriksen and Sjøstrøm took home the “Silver” at The Orpheum in Memphis.

The new album Narrative Boogie, featuring Mississippi bluesmen Bill Abel and Cadillac John Nolden, is available from iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify and more.
