The Zydeco Historical & Preservation Society, Inc., in partnership with the City of Opelousas, Louisiana (Zydeco Capital of the World) & El Sido’s Zydeco & Blues Club will be hosting Disaster Relief Concerts on Saturday September 9th, 2017 and Sunday, September 10th, 2017. The “Zydeco Nation United” Disaster Benefit Concert is a fundraiser concert that will showcase the talents of some of the top Zydeco, Southern Soul, and Blues musicians of Louisiana and Texas. Proceeds from the Disaster benefit concert will go directly to Zydeco, Southern Soul, and Blues musicians and their families directly affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Saturday Morning, Sept 9: Zydeco Brunch at Sloppy’s (329 Broad St, Lake Charles, LA 70601) Music by: Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Krush @ 10:00 AM.
Saturday Night, Sept 9: The Zydeco Nation United Disaster Relief Concert (Opelousas Civic Center – 1638 Creswell Ln, Opelousas, LA 70570). Doors open 7:00 PM. Show starts @ 8:00 PM. Music by: Lysa, Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble, T Broussard & Zydeco Steppers, JJ Caillier & the Zydeco Knockouts, Lil Nate and the Zydeco Big Timers.
Sunday, Sept 9: Old School Closing Fundraiser Concert (El Sido’s Zydeco & Blues Club, 523 N St Antoine St, Lafayette, LA 70501). Doors open @ 1:00 PM. Show Starts @ 2:00 PM. Music by: Horace Trahan & the Ossun Express featuring Rodney Bernard, Lynn August, Anthony Dopsie, Jeffery Broussard, & CJ Chenier.
