(Guerneville, CA) – Omega Events is proud to announce details of the 38th Annual Russian River Jazz & Blues Festival at Johnson’s Beach & Resort in Guerneville, CA on September 20 & 21, 2014. Headlining the festival this year will be performers Gary Clark Jr., Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Boney James & Larry Graham & Graham Central Station along with Goapele, Jon Batiste & Stay Human, Ana Popovic, Roy Rogers & The Delta Rhythm Kings, Beso Negro, Davina & The Vagabonds, and Mitch Woods.

For the last 38 years, music festivals have been a vital part of the Russian River community. Johnson’s Beach in Guerneville offers a picturesque venue that rests along the beach of the Russian River, only a few miles from over 100 wineries.

Headlining Blues Day on Sunday, September 21st will be Austin, Texas native Gary Clark Jr. Hailed as “The New Hendrix” by Rolling Stone, Gary is taking the musical world by storm.

Just this year, Clark was awarded a Grammy Award for “Best Traditional R&B performance” and a Blues Music Award for “Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year.” He has performed with musical legends Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh and Trombone Shorty.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue bring their aptly self named “supafunkrock” brand of music that truly gets fans moving to Johnson’s Beach. Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and his band consisting of several friends from the New Orleans “Treme” neighborhood have been touring nonstop across the world. They have released 9 studio albums and have played with a great selection of musicians including Jeff Beck, Lenny Kravitz, Dr. John, Keb’ Mo’ & more. A career highlight was performing at the White House as a part of Black History Month in 2012.

Music fans can purchase Single Day & Weekend Passes to the festival and enjoy 2 stages of jazz, blues and roots music over 2 days at Johnson’s Beach – a beautiful venue surrounded by California Redwoods. The festival also features a Wine Garden with tastings from local wineries, a variety of craft & merchandise vendors and an eclectic food court.

The official non-profit partner is Food for Thought Food Bank dedicated to meeting the nutritional needs of men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Sonoma County.
