(MONROE, WI) – The Monroe Balloon and Blues Festival is back! Get ready for two days of color in the sky, fire on the ground, and a smokin’ hot lineup on the stage. Mark your calendar for June 15-16, 2018 at the Green County Fairgrounds in Monroe, Wisconsin.
Color in the Sky
Hot air balloons go up on Friday and Saturday around 6 pm and Saturday morning at 6 am. Flight patterns follow the prevailing winds over Southern Wisconsin’s Green County countryside – where the rolling hills are home to more cows than people! When the propane runs low, pilots keep an eye out for open fields to land; providing a spectacle for the onlookers and photographers. For lift-off rom the festival grounds, you’ve got a strategic view to enjoy the music while keeping an eye to the sky.
Fire on the Ground
Always a favorite crowd pleaser – “balloon glows” at dusk on Friday and Saturday night. The pilots tether their balloons and fire up the propane. Hot colors run hotter, the dark sky is brighter, and the stage starts smoking…
Smokin’ Hot Blues Lineup
Local bluesman Jimmy Voegeli (of The Jimmys) put together a powerhouse lineup of top notch talent. From a throwback to “tough, real classic Chicago blues” with the Cash Box Kings – to the fresh young talent of Stackhouse frontman and guitar sensation Xavi Lynn. Sultry vocals, driving rhythms, gritty harmonica-driven tunes – the mojo will be workin’.

Friday 8:30 pm – Alex Wilson Band.
Saturday 2:30 pm – Stackhouse.
Saturday 4:30 pm – The Jimmys.
Saturday 6:30 pm – Cash Box Kings.
Saturday 8:30 pm – Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal.

Admission to the Green County Fairgrounds (2600 – 10th Street in Monroe) is free, with parking onsite for a nominal fee. Street parking is available around the Fairgrounds. On site – food stands and plenty of cool brews.
