Billings, MT – Magic City Blues, held this year August 7-10, 2014, is a signature annual event for the City of Billings and the State of Montana. Fans from all over the country return year after year to enjoy our world-class music, friendly city and special Montana flavor. Lineup includes Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Huey Lewis & The News, Jonny Lang, Matthew Curry, London Souls, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave., Gary Small & The Coyote’ Bros, Nikki Hill, Harper, Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real Cornmeal, Dirty Power.

This year marks a pivotal change for us: moving Saturday from the asphalt to the grass. Moving up to South Park gives us room, both for artists and fans. A bigger stage means we can present artists that wouldn’t fit on the street and the extra room and nice soft grass means there’s a place to sit if you want… you can bring your own chair to South Park. This move will allow us to grow and flourish and invest in the future by welcoming a whole new level of talent to the festival.

We have added several new elements to the festival this year. The most exciting is the Cape Air shade sail. This colorful installation stretches between the trees in front of the stage at South Park and provides cool visuals and shade for the crowd in front of the stage. Guildworks, from Portland Oregon, will be building the array. They are the leaders in “architecture of the air” and provide shade sail installations at leading festivals all over the country.

The Micro’s are coming!: Montana Brewing Company, Angry Hanks, Canyon Creek and Uberbrew will all be pouring at Connoisseur Media’s South Park Tap Room on Saturday and Sunday. The Tap Room will be in the gazebo at South Park, with a full-service bar & grill and the Budweiser beer garden right nearby.

Friday, August 8: Night Show on Montana Avenue:

Gates open at 5pm. Music starts at 5:30pm.
This is an 18+ show. Bring your i.d. since you must be 21 to drink alcohol. No coolers, carry-ins, outside food or drink. No pets. We will provide lots of chairs throughout the venue. Full concessions are available on site. The main gate is at the 2500 block of Montana Avenue with the Budweiser Stage in front of The Depot facing west and the Stillwater Stage in the parking

August 9-10 – Saturday & Sunday at South Park:
Gates open at 2:30 pm and music starts at 3pm. These are all ages shows. You must be 21 to drink alcohol. No coolers, carry-ins, outside food or drink. No pets. Full concessions are available on site. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. No pop-up tents.
