New Orleans Blues Society selects Solo/Duo Winner to head for Memphis

(Mandeville, LA) – Singer/songwriter Will Wesley was chosen by a panel of judges to represent the New Orleans Blues Society at the 2017 International Blues Competition in Memphis, January 31 to February 4, 2017. The N.O.B.S. Solo/Duo finals were held in the historic Dew Drop Social and Benevolent Hall in Mandeville, LA, Saturday, November 12.

Four acts competed during the evening. Dennis Schiably, President of the N.O.B.S., announced the winner at the end of the evening. Wesley, a very talented young man from Baton Rouge, LA, impressed both the crowd and the judges to come out on top. Wesley has been performing in the area for over 10 years and performed mostly original material during his portion of the contest.

The runner up in the competition, the duo Dirty Rain Revelers, will travel to Memphis in the event Wesley is unable, for any reason, to attend.
