The Pinetop Perkins Foundation announces the launch of a brand new program: The Pinetop Assistance League (PAL). The Pinetop Perkins Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide encouragement and support for youth and young people at the beginning of their musical career; and help provide care and safety for elderly musicians at the twilight of their career. The Pinetop Assistance League (PAL) fulfills the second part of this mission and provides respite care for elder musicians.

The official benefit launch for PAL will take place at Antone’s Nightclub on February 15th in Austin Texas with a great line-up of Texas musicians, to be announced soon!

PAL will be dedicated to providing temporary respite care for elder musicians over the age of 55.  Although preference will be given to blues artists, musicians in other genres will be eligible depending on available funds. Applicants will be required to fill out an application form and provide a letter of reference.  The type of care provided will focus on (but not be limited to): temporary home care services, transportation to/from doctor appointments, social services, medical treatments, grocery stores and pharmacy pick-ups, etc.

The program will officially begin on February 15, 2017 and is partially funded by generous endowments of the Clifford Antone Foundation and the Law Office of Morgan-Hill.  Additional information on the Pinetop Perkins Foundation, the Youth Master Class Workshop Experience and the PAL program can be found on our webpage: www.pinetopperkinsfoundation.org.
