(RENO, NV) – The Reno Blues Society is putting a new spin on the pub crawl craze with the third annual “Balloons and Blues Strut” on Saturday, Sept. 8 at four venues located within two blocks of each other on Victorian Avenue in Sparks with a local blues band at each venue playing between 7:30pm-11pm, all for just $5. The event is held during the Reno Balloon Race weekend.

Band times are staggered slightly to encourage attendees to see all bands at each of the four venues and the $5 donation is a fundraiser for the Reno Blues Society, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting blues music and culture in the area. Some of the proceeds will benefit the RBS’ music scholarship program. Costume theme for those who want to dress up is Blues Brothers’ garb (think dark glasses and a blues hat or fedora with a dark suit).

All stages will be indoors except the Great Basin Brewing Company will use their outdoor stage, featuring Soul Connection playing from 8-11pm. The band lineup also includes the Whiskey Preachers at Mummer’s Bar from 7:30-11pm, The Hellbusters at The Cantina from 7:30-10:30pm and Blue Haven at Paddy & Irene’s from 8-11pm.

Wristbands for $5 will be available at any of the venues that evening and entitles folks to all the live music and drink specials at each venue.
