The Blues Music Awards 2017 are Coming … Let the countdown begin!

(Memphis, TN) – On May 11, 2017 the Blues Music Awards (BMA) 2017 will be held at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. This event brings together Blues performers, industry representatives, and fans from all over the world to celebrate the best in Blues recordings and performances from the previous year. The BMAs are generally recognized as the highest honor given to blues musicians and are awarded by vote of Blues Foundation members. Here’s a breakdown of over two dozen events during that BMA week.

Mon May 8- Thurs May 11:

– Will Call and Merchandise Sales will happen at the Blues Hall of Fame Museum (421 S. Main St.), 10am – 4:30pm.

Mon May 8:

– Exclusive screening of Born In Chicago and Q&A with Corky Siegel at Malco’s Studio on the Square (2105 Court Ave). $15 per ticket 6:30pm-9+pm Live Music, screening, Q&A, Meet & Greet, CD Signing.

Tues, May 9:

– Classically Blue: Corky Siegel with IRIS Orchestra at Lafayette’s Music Room (2119 Madison Ave.) 7pm, $5 cover

Weds, May 10:

– Mike Kappus and The Rosebud Agency: 45+ Years Sharing the Music at Blues Hall of Fame Museum (421 S. Main St.) 2pm

– Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Halloran Centre for Performing Arts (225 S. Main St.) 5:30pm: Cocktail reception 6:30pm: Induction Ceremony $100 per person

– Big Llou’s 5th Annual Hall of Fame Tribute Jam and Fundraiser at The Warehouse (36 GE Patterson Ave.) 8pm, $20+ Proceeds to benefit The Blues Hall of Fame
