(Clarksdale, MS) – Looking for a weekend away? Come to the Deep Blues Festival Oct 13-16, an alternative blues festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi! The fest centers around the music and musicians inspired by the North Mississippi sounds and styles.
In 2007, Chris Johnson created the Deep Blues Festival to celebrate the outsider and alternative blues and blues influenced music that he felt deserved more attention. He established connections with hundreds of bands from around the world while making a name for the Deep Blues Festival on the international circuit. Fans have traveled from across the country and from around the world to support and attend the festival. This event started near the twin cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul) with a 1-day event showcasing 18 bands. Every year, the event has evolved, and in 2014 the festival moved south to Clarksdale, MS.
You can purchase a weekend pass or nightly passes to the 2016 Deep Blues Festival. The 2016 $75 Weekend Pass covers all the shows at the New Roxy and the Shack Up Inn. If you purchase your tickets online you can pick up your wristbands at the New Roxy on Thursday after 2 pm, Friday after 12 noon, and Saturday after 12 noon.

Saturday, Oct 15: $25 advance/$25 at the door

There will be plenty of free daytime music going on around town as well including daytime busking at Cathead Music store and music on the Rock & Blues Museum stage.
