Mississippi Bigfoot was formed in May of 2015 after a show at Ground Zero in Clarksdale, MS. Their debut, Population Unknown, recorded at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN, is a wild ride, with a wide variety of blues-infused delights from the Crossroads of Mississippi to the juke joints in Memphis and down to Nawlins for a spaceship ride through the Quarter. The vocals are dynamic and intense and the guitars are a smooth blend of Memphis soul and Texas spice. Each song is meant to send you on a journey.
The track āWag The Dogā has a taste of rockabilly and punk while āBurn That Woman Downā gives you that twang and drive of a Nashville session. āClarksdaleā takes you to that place where the deals are made. Population Unknown is fun and shows a creative mix of originality and pays tribute to the classic sounds of electric blues rock.
āMississippi Bigfoot is proof that the blues are alive and strong. I was blown away when I first heard them, and I still am.Ā This stuff makes me smile hard.ā ā Mick Kolassa, Blues Artist/Producer and member of the Board of the Blues Foundation.
