Blues veteran, Niecie, has a new CD, Wanted Woman, that is exploding the blues world. This new release is produced by the legendary, former Allman Brothers, Johnny Neel. Wanted Woman is raw, rocking blues with flavors of soul and funk mixed in. Blazing guitar licks of Chris Anderson from the Outlaws smoke through the tracks like the Cannonball Express.
Since the release, Wanted Woman has been tearing up the blues scene. The cut, “Blues Ain’t Nothin’,” was released as a single first and debuted at #2 on the APD Global charts. Wanted Woman has been landing on the charts worldwide including Europe, Canada, and Australia. The CD hit the Cashbox Roots Music Charts and was featured on Confessing The Blues Radio Network, Blues Deluxe Radio, and Hammered By The Blues. Wanted Woman debuted at #8 Top 50 Blues and #2 Top 50 Albums. For the month of November it landed #2 on the Blues Debut charts.
The title track, written by Niecie, portrays her sultry side with her smoky vocals. “Typical Chick,” a whimsical tune also penned by Niecie, let’s you know what she’s all about. Niecie laughs “This is a song I wrote about myself... watch out!” Another original, “God’s Got This,” is a proclamation of Niecie’s faith laid down funky style. “Traffic Light,” high energy rocking blues that takes off like a jet airplane, is a song that anyone who has sat behind a wheel of a car can relate to.
Niecie, a Motown native, has been tearing up the blues scene for over 20 years. She has shared the stage with Koko Taylor, Magic Slim and the Teardrops, Larry McCray and Shaun Murphy as well as former Allman Brothers Johnny Neel.
“If you are an entertainer that is going to go by one name (like Sting, Cher or Bono), you had better have the talent to back it up and Niecie passes this test easily”
- Rex Bartholomew, Blues Blast Magazine.
