Girls Got The Blues concert 10/6 to support domestic violence shelter

Marianne's Music along with Lara Price presents: A group of all-star, all-female singers and musicians coming together for a rare appearance during Domestic Violence Awareness month, for Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence. This 2nd Annual concert will again feature the powerhouse blues revue, Girls Got the Blues, "Rocking for Domestic Violence Awareness Month," Sunday, October 6th, at Theatre on San Pedro Square, 29 N. San Pedro, in downtown San Jose from 8-10:30pm.

Admission is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. All raffle proceeds and net ticket sales will benefit Next Door. There will be great raffle items! For tickets go here.

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence has been promoting safety for women and children in Santa Clara County since 1971.

This is an all-star cast of female talent that have come together to make musical magic! Each of their remarkable talents is showcased in an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

Led by Lara Price, an All American singer with a sultry stage presence and a voice that demands your attention- smoky, lonely, sexy, and powerful - Lara has shared the bill with R&B legends, Etta James, James Brown, Buddy Guy, Leon Russell. Lara Price was born in the war torn country of Vietnam in 1975. Abandoned at birth, she she became part of the controversial Operation Baby Lift and her journey out of Vietnam to the US was nothing short of a miracle. Lara Price is a survivor whose music speaks to your soul.

Pam Hawkins is a hurricane of soul. Her voice is thunder, her dance is lightning. When she activates, she captivates elevating the mood and electrifying the senses. There is a perfect storm and her name is Pam Hawkins

Suzanne St. John sings with the power, rawness and presence of Janis Joplin. She was baptized into the blues in the late 90s, singing with Archie Lee Hooker in the Bay Area.

Janice Maxie Reid-Keys/Vocalist - is known as "Queen Of The Keyboards", "The Complete Package" and The "Triple Threat." She is a Conservatory-trained, jazz and gospel inspired, a stunning and talented powerhouse who has toured and performed throughout the world.

Dolly Rappaport has a rare combination of unforgettable voice, world-class saxophone. Dolly Rappaport's artistry and musicianship have attracted fans from around the globe.

Robin Roth has earned her reputation as an in-the-pocket-drummer versatile in many styles with a transfixing stage presence.

GG Amos, Guitar/vocals is an artist in the West Coast Blues tradition. She's earned a reputation as a riveting performer with a distinctive, expressive guitar style and an emotionally charged fluid voice.

Lille Robinson-Bass also plays lead guitar and has played Yoshi's and many special concerts and well known venues over the years. She will rock this audience.

Sweet Nectar - Sue McCracklin & Maureen Smith - back up vocalists are a vocal treat never to be missed. They round out any performance with their vocals, stage presence and energy.

There will be some of the most famous local Blues artists, All Women Band. This show was a sell out last year. You hear "off the hook" performances for two hours. And, you come together to support this great cause - Next Door Solutions for Domestic Violence has been supporting the issues, safety, empowerment, shelter, teen dating, and much more for over 40 years in Santa Clara County. Raffle items will be amazing and all proceeds from the raffle will benefit Next Door.
