(BESSEMER, AL) – Barbecue and Blues are a great combination, so don’t miss out on the 10th Annual Bob Sykes BBQ & Blues Festival, April 27, 2019.
The annual event will be held at DeBardeleben Park (1623 2nd Avenue North, Bessemer, Alabama). Gates open at 11am and will feature award-winning national and local blues musicians from 12-8pm. The lineup includes The Keesha Pratt Band, Ghost Town Blues Band, Dexter Allen, The Lucky Losers and more. Bring a chair or blanket and set-up your spot for the day. There will be activities for the entire family for every age plus art and vendor areas.
The 10th Annual Bob Sykes BBQ & Blues Festival will give a portion of the festival proceeds to Red Mountain Grace. This is a non-profit organization that provides housing to families of patients receiving long term medical care at hospitals throughout the City of Birmingham.
Bob Sykes Bar B Q is a family owned local tradition since 1957. Founders Bob and Maxine Sykes opened an ice cream and hamburger stand in Central Park area of Birmingham, Alabama. This was about the time Bob built his first pit and began to cook the barbeque he remembered so fondly as a child growing up in the hills of western Tennessee. The rest as they say is history.
General Admission tickets are $15 online or visit Bob Sykes Bar B Q Restaurant; or $20 at the gate. Ages 12 and under are free with ticketed adult. Food and drinks are sold separately. Beer and wine sold with proof of ID. No tents, pets, or coolers allowed.
