(Harlingen, TX) – Blues on the Hill is an annual concert series that features national and international Blues Music Artists. The event has been a family oriented cultural event in Harlingen for the last 12 years. Their August 20th event will be held at McKelvey Park (1325 S. 77 Sunshine Strip) in Harlingen, Texas and feature Katy Guillen & The Girls with special guests Tim Gonzalez and Soul Pocket, and Evelyn Rubio.
2014 finalists at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, Katy Guillen & The Girls have deep roots in the blues, thanks to leader Guillen’s considerable skills and long history as a blues guitarist, but this trio—Guillen (guitar, vocals), Claire Adams (bass, vocals), and Stephanie Williams (drums)—brings a wide range of talents and tastes to the band’s sound.
Tim Gonzalez is a harmonica player from Brownsville, TX who has recorded with B.B King, Ronnie Milsap, and Toby Keith nd has been nominated Best Live Blues Performer by the Nashville Industry Music Awards.
Multinational singer, songwriter and sax player, Evelyn Rubio, will be showcasing in both English and Spanish.
