Antioch’s Delta Blues Festival will hold its only concert this year on March 3 at El Campanil Theatre. The event will raise $10K in grants for music education.

(Antioch, CA) — Money doesn’t fall from trees, but sometimes it’s there for the asking.

For the first time in its history, the Antioch nonprofit Delta Blues Festival is offering $10,000 to further local students’ musical education.

To apply for the grant, schools and other organizations must complete the grant form at Delta Blues festival.net. The deadline is Feb. 14; a check will be presented to the successful applicant(s) at the March [3] concert.

Delta Blues Festival also will award two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to study music in college.

East County teens still have time to apply for the funds by going to the Delta Blues Festival scholarship link. The deadline is also Feb. 14.

First held in 1999, the festival has drawn thousands of blues lovers to downtown Antioch’s Waldie Plaza every September for the past 19 years.
