(NANAIMO, BC) – The Summertime Blues Festival is hosted by the Nanaimo Blues Society and held annually in the heart of downtown beautiful Nanaimo, British Columbia. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to listen to acts that take to the open-air stage in Maffeo Sutton Park (100 Comox Rd, Nanaimo, BC) for the event of the Summer! The festival is honoring Vancouver Island blues musicians. Artists appearing over the weekend include David Gogo, Layla Zoe, Blue Moon Marquee, and The Paul Deslauriers Band. Friday’s show starts at 5pm and Saturday and Sunday shows start at 12pm.

The Festival Line-up for 2018 is as follows:
Friday: Blackfish – Paul Black Band – Layla Zoe – David Vest
Saturday: The Deb Rhymer Band – South Island Rhythm Kings – Uncle Wiggly’s Hot Shoes Band
Big Pacific – The Soul Shakers – Bill Johnson – David Gogo
Sunday: Whitey Somers – Renovation Blues – Auntie Kate & The Uncles of Funk – Hank Angel
Mark Crissinger – The Paul Deslauriers Band – Blue Moon Marquee

Please remember the Loaves and Fishes Fund Raiser on Thursday, August 23. Gates open at 7pm and suggested donation is $10 or suitable, non-perishable food items. Music starts at 8pm and there will be a dance demonstration before The Queen’s Shuffle plays.
