Put Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise on your Bucket List

No Comments Latest Blues News

Hi Blues Friends;

This is Kaati, the publisher of the Blues Festival Guide. My friends and I just got back from the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise. It was the #24 ~ Western Caribbean Cruise and it was awesome!

The stand-out acts for me were Mr. Sipp (former IBC winner) and The Peterson Brothers (teenage brothers from Texas), although all the music was amazing.

We enjoyed Billy Branch, Bobby Rush, Charlie Musselwhite, Coco Montoya, Dwayne Dopsie, James Harman, Keb Mo, Tommy Castro, Danielle Nicole, Tasha Taylor, Samantha Fish, Keith Crossan, Lucky Peterson, Madeline Payroux, Matt Anderson, Poppy Chubby, Roomful of Blues, Shemekia Copeland, Tab Benoit, Taj Mahal Trio, Victor Wainwright, Mitch Woods, special guest Janiva Magness and so many more.

When you get on board, they give you a list of rules that are pretty easy to follow:

  • Once a Blues Cruiser, Always a Blues Cruiser
  • Your Backstage Pass Is In Hand
  • Boogie ‘til Dawn
  • A Tequila Sunrise is Not Just a Drink
  • What Happens on the Ship
  • If this Cabin’s Rockin’ Don’t Come Knockin’
  • Ain’t No Family Like a Bluesin’ Family
  • You have to Stand Up In it (Theodis Ealey)
  • Sleep When You Get Home
  • Bring Your Virgin Friends and Get Ship-Faced!

Besides rocking out on the boat, our shore excursions were world class: Mayan ruins in Costa Maya, Mexico; snorkeling in Roatan, Honduras (the largest barrier reef in the Caribbean Sea), and sunning on white-sand beaches in Georgetown in Grand Cayman.

You really have to put this on your bucket list folks – go to www.BluesCruise.com for more info. It is more affordable than you think and worth every penny.
