Shoutout to the talented 2020 IBC Winners

(MEMPHIS, TN) – Big shoutout and congratulations to the winners of the 2020 International Blues Challenge. Memphis was teaming with excitement and talent literally everywhere you went last weekend. Over 230 blues challengers from around the world competed. Of those, 44 bands and 36 Solo/Duo acts made the Semi-finals. By Saturday, Feb 1st, 8 bands and 8 Solo/Duo acts faced off in the Finals at the Orpheum Theater.

By Saturday evening, the winners were announced.

HOROJO Trio of the Ottawa Blues Society took home 1st Place Band, The Jose Ramirez Band of the DC Blues Society took 2nd Place Band and The Pitbull of Blues Band of the Southwest Florida Blues Society took 3rd Place Band. Hector Anchondo of The Blues Society of Omaha took 1st Place Solo/Duo and the Memphis Cigar Box Award; Felix Slim of the Long Island Blues Society took 2nd Solo/Duo and the Lee Oskar Harmonica Award, JW-Jones won the Gibson Guitarist Award; and Sweet Thing by Moonshine Society of the River City Blues Society (VA) won Best self-Produced CD.
