The Rosebud Agency vital to music scene for 41 years

Our friends at Rosebud share:

“Rosebud continues to work on special projects since phasing out of booking activities in 2014. We’re busy sorting and documenting materials from our 40+ year history (over 45,000 contracts alone) for archiving at the Southern Folklife Center at UNC-Chapel Hill. We’re also still overseeing music related business for the estates of the late Captain Beefheart and JJ Cale. Founder Mike Kappus also been involved in several projects commemorating former client John Lee Hooker’s Centennial (born 8/22/1917) including the new Cleveland, MS Grammy Museum exhibit on John Lee, the new box set – John Lee Hooker – King of The Boogie (out 10/6/17), and the upcoming BBC documentary on John Lee’s life. This in addition to work as an Independent Board Director for the new Jonathan Logan Family Foundation and on the board of The Arhoolie Foundation among other new projects.

Thanks to all our collaborators since 1976, with special appreciation for our intentionally short list of Rosebud artists who, during their time with Rosebud, earned 116 Grammy nominations and 28 Grammy wins, 9 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions, 7 Grammy Lifetime Achievement or Trustee Awards, 19 Blues Hall of Fame inductions (plus a 2014 induction for yours truly) and for an unprecedented 4 Blues Foundation awards for Manager/Agency of the year. Visit the exhibit on our work which opened in May 2017 at the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis.”
