(DURAND, WI) – Join us for three days of Blues music in beautiful
downtown Durand, Wisconsin in Memorial Park when Blues on the Chippewa happens
August 2-4. The 12th annual fest will have 2 stages and feature Walter Wolfman
Washington, Anthony Gomes, CeCe Teneal & Soul Kamotion, The Jimmy’s, Lamont
Cranston, Jontavious Willis, South Farwell, Gary Cain Band, Funk N Roll, Brian
Naughton Band and more. There will be a Craft Fair, food and beverage vendors, plus
downtown Tavern Shows nightly. Shuttle service is available to and from
campgrounds. Blues on the Chippewa benefits the Brent Titus Music For Children
Program and the PC Food Pantry.
Friday’s headliner, CeCe Teneal & Soul Kamotion, have been
captivating the globe with original, live music with their blend of blues, soul
and roots music that uplifts and inspires. Saturday’s headliner Walter
“Wolfman” Washington has been a mainstay on the New Orleans music scene since
the 60s backing up some of the best singers and performers before putting
together his band, The Roadmasters in the 80s. Sunday’s headliner, Anthony
Gomes, a #1 Billboard Blues Artist, is a triple threat force as a guitarist,
vocalist and songwriter. This, along with his high-energy shows and dynamic
stage presence, make him one of the top draws on the rock/blues circuit today.
“My goal is to keep the Blues fresh, exciting and even dangerous,” says
Gomes. “I want to bring back the thrill longtime Bluesmen created in their
day. At the same time, I think it’s very important for the music to grow and
evolve.
