(LYONS, IL) – The Windy City Blues Society is collaborating with the Village of Lyons to present the Inaugural Windy City Blues Fest. The Fest is September 22nd and 23rd, at Cermak Park, 7701 Ogden Ave., Lyons, Illinois.
The fest is held Saturday and Sunday at end of summer and will feature 2 stages, over 40 musical acts, family, friends, good food and drink. There will be plenty of room to relax with the great music and new experiences. Artists include Lurrie Bell, Nellie “Tiger” Travis, Kilborn Alley Blues Band, Long Tall Deb & Collin John, Ben Miller Band, Fruteland Jackson and many more. Please join us!
It’s a first time Blues Music Festival, and you have a chance to be the first ones to help make it legendary and carry the blues forward. This is going to be like a Chicago Blues Fest from years gone by. We hope the Windy City Blues Fest is the bookend to the Chicago Blues Summer, and a gateway to the King Biscuit in October.
On Friday Sept 21st The Harlem Avenue Lounge will host a Pre-Fest Party, featuring Delmark Recording Artist, Omar Coleman.
The festival will provide free bus service from the grounds to the hotels, camp ground, off-site parking and some local businesses.
Come on out and have a great time.
Keep the Blues Alive Baby!
