Local Musicians Compete for Chance to Represent Chippewa Valley in Memphis
Eau Claire, WI — The Chippewa Valley Blues Society will host its first ever Road to Memphis Challenge on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at The 410 in Eau Claire.
The competition will feature both bands and solo/duo performers, with winners earning the opportunity to represent the Chippewa Valley at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in January 2027.
The Road to Memphis Challenge showcases the region’s top blues talent and celebrates the rich musical tradition that continues to thrive in Wisconsin. The event offers local musicians a chance to perform before a live audience and compete for a spot on the international stage.
“This event is more than a competition — it’s a celebration of the incredible blues talent we have right here in Wisconsin,” said Cheryl Apfel Wise, Chippewa Valley Blues Society President. “When our winners head to Memphis, they carry the spirit and support of the entire Chippewa Valley with them.”
Live blues music will begin at 3:00 p.m. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend and support local artists in this exciting night of music and community.
