27th Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival

PORTLAND, OR – The 27th Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival and Fireworks Show will be held July 3-6, 2014 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park (SW Naito Pkwy Portland, Oregon). The Oregon Food Bank has announced the featured lineup. Headlining artists Curtis Salgado, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Maceo Parker, Lee Fields & the Expressions and John Nemeth & The Bo-Keys join more than 100 blues acts on four stages over the July 4th weekend event to benefit Oregon Food Bank’s mission of fighting hunger and its root causes. 5th Topeka Blues Society Spirit of Kansas Blues Festival

TOPEKA, KS – The Topeka Blues Society presents the 6th Annual Spirit of Kansas Blues Festival on Saturday, the 4th of July, at Reynolds Lodge, Lake Shawnee, Topeka, Kansas. Music starts at 11:30am, and continues until dark. A spectacular fireworks display then lights up the sky, reflecting over the lake. Admission is free.

Attendees may bring shade tents (for designated area), coolers/food, blankets and chairs. The Topeka Blues Society has a food tent – those proceeds benefit the Topeka Blues Society and this festival. 2nd Annual Blues Brews and BBQ Event

GLENWOOD, IA – Join us for the 2nd Annual Blues Brews and BBQ event at Glenwood’s Lake Park, Glenwood, Iowa. A fun filled day with music, food, beverages and family activities for everyone to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday. They will be a beer garden with craft beer, fireworks, an antique tractor show and vendor fair. Musical guests include: Steve Byam and 40 Sinners; Shawn Holt and the Teardrops, Southbend, SwampBoy Blues Band, Coyote Bill Boogie Band (2014 Kansas City Blues Society Band Challenge Winners), Hector Anchondo Band (2015 Omaha Blues Society Challenge Winner – Semifinalist in 2015 IBC), Katy Guillen and The Girls Kansas City  (Finalists in the 2014 International Blues Challenge), and John Nemeth  (Six nominations for Blues Foundation 2015 Blues Music Awards plus Soul Blues Album of the Year for Memphis Grease.
