LOS ANGELES, CA – Legendary blues icon and six-time Grammy Award winning artist Buddy Guy latest masterpiece, Born To Play Guitar, released July 31on Silvertone/RCA Records, took home the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album. The Grammy’s were held February 15, 2016, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Produced by Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Tom Hambridge, Born To Play Guitar captures Guy keeping the blues alive and features collaborations with Van Morrison, Joss Stone, Kim Wilson and Billy Gibbons. Guy is joined by Morrison on the heartfelt “Flesh and Bone,” a tribute to B.B. King. On “Come Back Muddy,” Guy looks back on the good ole days with his close friend Muddy Waters.

The recent recipient of the 2015 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Buddy Guy’s incredible career spans over 50 years with just as many albums released. Career highlights include 6 Grammy Awards, 35 Blues Music Awards, Kennedy Center Honors, NARM Chairman’s Award for Sustained Creative Achievement, Billboard Music Awards’ Century Award for distinguished artistic development, Presidential National Medal of Arts, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to name a few.
