Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival

(SIMI VALLEY, CA) – The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival, now in its 27th year, will be held is May 28-29 at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park (5005 Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley, CA). The Festival presents live Cajun, Creole, Zydeco and Blues entertainment, offers more than 150 food, beverage, craft and sponsor booths, and attracts approximately 20,000 attendees. Artists like Eric Burdon, Dwayne Dopsie, Booker T, Chubby Carrier, Leon Russell, Doug Kershaw and a host of other favorites will perform on the Blues and the Cajun/Zydeco stage respectively. Hosted by The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise, the event benefits both Cajun heritage and the people of Simi Valley and surrounding areas.

Along with the amazing music offered, Cajun/Zydeco dance instructor AJ Gibbs will be leading free dance instructions during breaks at the Cajun/Zydeco stage. Each day there is also a Mardi Gras style parade with stilt walkers, costumed characters, marching bands and everybody is invited to join in. So show off your beads, spin your umbrellas, pull on your masks and have a ball parading throughout the park.

Cajun-Creole food such as jambalaya and crawfish — BBQ sandwiches and hot dogs are also popular! Funnel cake, fruit smoothies, and kettle corn will satisfy that sweet tooth.

Stroll through rows of craft vendors and be surprised by the treasures you will find! From clothes, purses, crafts and pottery, to jewelry, toys, posters and hats. Homemade salsas, salt water taffy, and unique crafts. There is something for everyone!

Discount tickets and a weekend pass are available on line. Kids through age 12 are free. All day pass for jumpers, slides, activities: $ 10 for 5 and under; $ 20 for 6 and above. General admission tickets are available for Saturday or Sunday for $25 at the gate or $20 online. Weekend Pass (Good for both days) is $35 and available online only.

One hundred percent of all Festival profits are donated in support of charitable, educational and humanitarian causes. Thanks to the generous and vital support of our corporate partners, profits from The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival have resulted in total charitable donations in excess of $1,600,000.
